Here you will find a collection of lesson plans and activities, created by me for my fourth grade classroom.

War and Taxes

This lesson introduced students to the events leading to the American Revolution.  There were 3 stations.  The focus of the lesson was using and responding to questions on the writeboard.  For more info, click on the following llink:

Do You Want A Revolution?

This lesson introduced students to the American Revolution.  Students watched a music video from a contemporary song, entitled, "Revolution." After watching the video, students used the lyrics from the song to create a definition for the word, "revolution."  Students were then paired up and used the Internet to research various aspects of the Revolution.  They used this info to create questions that were compiled to create an online review game.  For more info, including student samples, click on the following link: http://teachers.henrico.k12.va.us/baker/white_f/WhiteLP2final.doc

21st Century Skill #1

Still focusing on the American Revolution, I used the program Numbers to create a bar graph, comparing statistics (casualties and wounded) of various battles of the American Revolution.

21st Century Skill #2

Using an advanced feature of Word, I created an end of year survey form and saved it as a template. Click on the following link to view the form: http://teachers.henrico.k12.va.us/baker/white_f/FWhite21skill2.dot
